The loss of a family member is difficult to bear. The burden is greater for loved ones when they must make hasty decisions about choosing burial plots. Give yourself and your loved ones peace of mind by making those decisions in advance.
Baltimore Hebrew Congregation and Temple Oheb Shalom have offered members here burial privileges at their locations on Berrymans Lane, Belair Road (BHC), and O'Donnell Street (TOS). They are offering plots to Temple Emanuel members at member costs.
If you are interested in obtaining additional information or pricing, please contact Jo Ann at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, (410) 764-1587, ext. 223 or Ken Davidson at Temple Oheb Shalom, (410) 358-0105.

My grocery store accepts plastic bags for recycling. Can they really be recycled, or is the store greenwashing?
A: Some may be sold to actual recyclersSafeway, in particular, has an arrangement with a domestic recycler to downcycle these plastic bags into compressed lumber for decks, fencing, and picnic tables. But the majority of the plastic bags collected by these receptacles are baled and shipped to Asia. What is done with them there? Even the man responsible for overseeing Californias mandatory plastic bag recycling law for supermarkets hasnt been able to find out: Id love to know what happens to [baled plastic bags] overseas, says Neal Johnson, a research analyst for the California Environmental Protection Agency. There are a lot of anecdotal comments about whether it gets burned as boiler fuel [a toxic use of plastic thats illegal in the US], or reprocessed as some sort of filler. We dont quite know what happens there. Your best bet: bring your own reusable shopping bags and produce bags with you to the supermarket.
Choose to shop with REUSABLE shopping bags - keep them in the trunk of your car!
